Our team is dedicated to providing a safe and positive youth football experience for every young athlete.
What ages can play:
We accept athletes of all skill levels from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Warren Youth Football is leading the charge for a safer youth football game. Each of our coaches are certified by USA Football and their “Heads Up Football” program. We only purchase helmets that have achieved a five-star rating, the highest in the industry. And specially trained athletic trainers make every medical decision during game time, further protecting our kids. When it comes to football safety, we strive to set the standard.
How we build our teams:
Every young athlete who joins WYF will be placed on a team. That team will be built based on a combination of age, size and athletic ability. Simply put, our teams are built so that every athlete has a chance to succeed and learn the game of football.
WYF provides high quality football equipment for everyone. Each athlete will receive a helmet, shoulder pads, game jersey and football pants.
You will be responsible for cleats, socks, mouth guard and a football girdle.
Frequently we are provided with discounts or coupons for purchasing this equipment, which we share with everyone as it becomes available.
Our football season begins in late-July with training camp and unpadded tryouts. These are two very important weeks for our kids to become accustomed to the workout and the heat.
The first week of August we have full-contact, padded tryouts.
By the second week of August we have built our teams.
Games begin around Labor Day, but are preceded by one week by a Scrimmage Weekend.
The regular season ends in late October and the playoffs run into the first few weeks of November.
There are small variations from year-to-year, but this is generally the pattern for each season.
WYF is a traveling football program. We play against other communities around Chicago-land.
Generally each team has nine regular season games- half of which are here at home.
Every family is asked to participate in our annual fundraising. It is the success of these fundraising activities that helps us to drive down our costs, while purchasing high-quality equipment.
If you do not wish to participate in our fundraising program, you do have the option to purchase our $75 buy-out when you register.
Our current base fees are $375 for the 2018 season. However those may vary based on your situation.
From February 1 - March 15 there is an automatic $50 early registration discount.
After June 15 there is an automatic $50 late registration penalty.
Family's with multiple athletes in WYF do receive a 25% discount on their base fees for each athlete beyond their first. These discounts only apply to siblings.
